OCA Players database for email addresses?

The OCA Executive are in the process of compiling a database of their player’s email addresses, as they wish to keep everyone better informed as to what is happening in the association, and although the club contacts/secretaries are updated, we often find that information is not passed on to the players.

We will only add a players details to our listing if ‘the player’ wishes us to, and email addresses will only be used on OCA business and never passed onto any outside organisation without your permission. All players need to do is send an email to the General Secretary ( saying: Please add my details and the name of your club.

OCA Presentation Evening Photographs

Photographs of the above event are now available if you want to see them. All you need to do is contact the OCA General Secretary at and he will arrange to have these sent through by email for you to download and print off as required.

It was a very good evening and extremely well supported by Charlbury CC players, and we hope that next year they will be collecting more silverware from the Cherwell League dinner, in their first year in the CL.

What a great weekend!!

What a party!! –  and now we can reflect on what can only be described as a ‘fantastic event for Charlbury C.C’, and think it’s fair to say that we have never had so many attend our bonfire and fireworks evening – thank you to all who came along to support us and we hope you all enjoyed it as much as us?

Our thanks have to go to Nick Merry and his team for putting on such a great display – the finale was just fantastic, the best ever!!….The overall planning and oversite was under the control of Richard (Dickie) Nash who did a great job in ensuring all bases were covered, and I know that he would want to thank the many helpers who worked so hard all day on Saturday, and Sunday morning in the clear-up. What great support we also received from the Beer Festival people, who supplied, erected and dismantled the three marquees, thank you to all of them.

And did you know?……that for the past 12-13 years a friend of Nick Merry, who lives in Germany, comes over every year to help the fireworks team, that’s committment big time and the lady who has just moved into Charlbury, who attended the event but returned the following morning to assist with the ‘clear-up’…that’s community spirit in action….

New Chairman for Charlbury C.C.

As the retiring Chairman of CCC, I wish to advise that Tom Eaton was voted in as the ‘new’ Chairman at the AGM held on Sunday 22nd October, and we wish him every success in this role. I am fully convinced that with Tom’s great style of leadership and his obvious enthusiasm, he is the right person to take the club forward, as we join the Cherwell League in 2018.

Tom is currently organising the ‘new’ Management Committee, who will be tasked in running the ‘day to day’ business of the club, so please give this committee your full support and be prepared to help out in whatever ways are necessary in the coming days – there is a lot to do and as the saying goes “many hands make light work”…

Colin Olliffe – Former Chairman of CCC
