CCC Ladies…. CHAMPIONS!!

Our Ladies team won their league on Sunday; Midlands League Division 1 East.
It has been a great season, so many strong performances. All who took part, should be very proud of the achievement. Finishing top of this league is superb news for the club!

A particular mention must go to our wonderful captain… So much hard work, dedication and laughs for such a long period of time, well done Strody and thank you!

Cher & Vicky Stepping Down

After many years of producing the finest teas in the OCA and now the Cherwell also, Cher is standing down at the end of the season. As a club we can’t thank Cher enough for her dedication, constant smile and quite superb teas. Over the next month I’m sure you’ll all want to have a word individually and thank Cher for all her hard work.
Also, after six years in the job, Vicky will be standing down as 3rd team captain at the end of the season (staying as ladies captain). The 3rd team has been a brilliant place to play during Vicky’s tenure. Vicky has embraced the role by introducing youth players and ladies, getting the best out of our more experienced players and most importantly ensuring all enjoy themselves when representing our 3rds. We can’t thank Vicky enough, what an innings!
We now need to look forward to next season.
We have two exciting and important vacancies within the club which you can get involved with. If you are interested and would like to know more and/or apply for either of the roles (or both), pls email or call Tom Eaton by Friday 17th August latest.
eatontom81@yahoo.com / 07826 520452.
We would like to have someone in place to take over from Cher by the end of August, Cher has very kindly offered to show her replacement ‘the ropes’ and then that person will be voted in at our AGM in October. For the 3rd team role we would like to know who is interested, hold discussions and then likewise our new captain will be voted in at our AGM.
If you have any questions, thoughts or ideas about either role pls don’t hesitate to discuss with Tom, Cher, Vicky or any of the other captains.

Charlbury Ladies to get International Match Day Coverage

Our Ladies match away to Sileby Town Ladies on Sunday 15th July has been selected by ESPN Cricinfo and England cricket sponsor, NatWest, to get their full professional coverage.
The WML Division One clash at Mill Lane will be covered, ball by ball, by the Cricinfo team and will feature everything that you’d expect from international match day coverage.
It will also feature a master class with a guest appearance from surprise female international player, interviews with the captains and a player of the match award, all covered live on the internet.
The day begins with the 45-minute master class and is then followed by the coin toss at 11:45am, with the game starting at midday.
There’ll also be a match review video at the closure of the game.

The Sileby bar will be open throughout the day and there will be a BBQ on. Come along and support the ladies and enjoy the sunshine and a fun day out for the family, with lots of space for youngsters to play and practice their cricket skills – including in the NatWest virtual reality zone.

Good luck Charlbury!!!

Clubhouse & Ground Reminder

Please can I remind everyone that all club members have a responsibility to look after our club and clean up after themselves.
There’s not been any major incident or anything, but over the last couple of weeks there has been two or three comments made to me that different people/groups have come to the club and had to tidy up from the previous people/group before getting on with what they are doing.
In other words; ‘we could all do better’.
I think you’ll all agree…. we have a fine clubhouse which we want to keep that way, so pls continue to look after and keep up together.
Thanks in anticipation.
Tom
