Information

Match & League Format

  • 16 Overs Per Team / Max 4 Overs Per Bowler / Batsmen To Retire At 50.
  • 2 Leagues of 4 played on individual teams grounds.
  • Each team will play 3 games ( 2 Home & 1 Away or 1 Home & 2 Away dependent on "draw").
  • Games to be played Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (as fits individual clubs) on weeks specified in this information.
  • Alternate weeks leaving space for "Wet Weather Rearrangements" (WWR).
  • Home team (first named) responsible for arranging fixture.
  • All fixtures to be arranged by 31st March and details notified to tournament secretary (David Rump, 0771 282 5852.)
  • Top 2 team from each league qualify for knockout stage.
  • 2 points for a win. 1 for a tie (wickets do not count).
  • If 2 teams tie on points, position will be decided by the result of the match between them. If that was a tie or 3 teams tie on points then net run rate will decide qualification.

Knockout Rounds

  • Semi Finals: Winners League A v Runners up League B & Winners League B v Runners up League A to be played at Charlbury Tuesday & Thursday of specified week respectively.
  • Final To be played at Charlbury on specified Tuesday with Wednesday & Thursday set aside as WWR.

Team Makeup

  • 2 places in each team fielded to be allocated for U18 players. These places may not be filled by over 18 players (if no U18 players, then the team plays short).
  • Age qualification is based on age at midnight on August 31st 2009.

Rules

The purpose of the two U18 players rule is to use this trophy to promote the development of young players and in 2011 it will be increased to three U18 players.

The purpose of the "teas money" item is that Charlbury CC wish to promote the social after match aspect of cricket and participant clubs are asked to consider a similar arrangement for the league fixtures. It is also intended that non players will be able to purchase supper at a nominal charge to encourage spectators.

General Rules

  • Games should start at 6:30pm.
  • For league games each team will provide the ball when bowling.
  • For league games each team will provide one umpire.
  • Match balls for the final & semi finals will be donated by Gordon Clack.
  • Umpires for the final & semi finals will be appointed by Charlbury CC.
  • Teams qualifying for the semi final and final will also be asked to pay £25 "teas money" for each of these matches as Charlbury CC will be providing a BBQ / supper after these matches.
  • Any U18 batsman or wicketkeeper standing up to the stumps will wear a helmet.
  • Results are to be phoned or text to David Rump, 0771 282 5852, within 24 hours of the match.
  • If match held over till following week due to bad weather please notify David Rump.
